So I already did the “Stay at Home Book Tag” and since I’m going to be working from home until at least the beginning of November, I figured I may as well do another quarantine related tag! As usual, no one tagged me in this one I just felt like doing it lol.
The Tag Rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you
- Answer all the questions below
- Pingback to the creator: Ellyn @ Allonsythornraxx
- Nominate 5+ bloggers you’d like to know more about to do this tag
What are you currently reading?
Oof, I’m in the middle of too many books. But they’re all fairly different so I’ve been able to keep them straight so far. We have:
- Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me by Mariko Tamaki
- Binti by Nnedi Okorafor
- Miss Meteor by Tehlor Key Mejia and Anna-Maria McLemore
- Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust
What’s your favorite ‘can’t leave the house’ activity?
I have a couple. I really like to just chill and watch some Netflix, crochet, and play video games. I just finished crocheting a baby blanket for a friend and I’ve been playing Half Life: Black Mesa. As for shows I’m in the middle of so many but my recent quarantine favorite has been Pose!
A book you’ve been meaning to read forever?
I’ve been meaning to read King of Fools by Amanda Foody ever since it came out over a year ago. The first book, Ace of Shades, was one of my favorite reads of last year but for some reason I’ve just been putting off picking up the sequel. However, the third and final book is coming out in September so I know I have to finally pick this one up soon.
An intimidating book on your tbr?
The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. I know I’ve read books that are just as long, if not longer than this one but something about the size has just been intimidating me since it first came out!
Top three priority books on your tbr?
Out of these 3, one is an arc that I really want to get to before it’s too far from the publish fate and two are sequels to two of my favorite books I’ve read in the past year.
- Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power
- The Shadow of Kyoshi by F.C. Yee
- A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor by Hank Green
Recommend a short book?
I just read Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire last month and I loved it! It’s only 173 pages, or about 4 hours if you listen to the audiobook like I did.
Recommend a long book?
City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty is a fantastic book! I still need to read the last book that just came out but if you’re looking for an exciting adult fantasy where every book is fairly long, I would recommend this one!
Something you’d love to do while stuck at home?
During quarantine I finally started painting this plain wood corn hole set we have. I’ve been meaning to paint something fun on the boards for almost 2 years now so I’m happy to finally have the time to do it. I just finished one of them so now it’s onto the second.
What do you plan on reading next?
I have Sword in the Stars by Amy Rose Capetta and Cory McCarthy from my library so I’m going to start that next. But I really need to just focus on finishing all the other books I have started too.
I feel like I’ve already seen quite a few people doing this tag so I’m copping out and not actually tagging anyone. But if you haven’t done this yet, consider yourself tagged!
